As pointed out by Twitter account Call of Duty Warzone News, the Bazaar Gunfight map has a crate with a crinkled map taped to it. The numbers 03/03 is written underneath the map, which has been one of the theorized Warzone battle royale release dates. Nothing official has been announced just yet, but it’s certainly within the realm of possibility that Infinity Ward will release the Modern Warfare Warzone battle royale mode as early as March 3.

It should be noted that this crate isn’t the only item in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that has the March 3 date written on it. On the Piccadilly map, there is a movie poster advertising a film called War Beast that has a March 3 release date. This could all be a coincidence, but some fans definitely think that this is Infinity Ward’s way of hinting at the Warzone battle royale release date.

There is another date that has been heavily rumored as well though, so fans shouldn’t be circling their calendars just yet. While it’s certainly possible that Modern Warfare’s Warzone battle royale mode will launch on March 3, the other date that’s been mentioned a lot is Tuesday, March 10. But since neither Activision nor Infinity Ward have actually offered any information either way, all fans can do at this time is speculate.

If the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Warzone battle royale mode is set to launch on March 3 or March 10, then more information should come sooner rather than later. Infinity Ward may opt to stealth-launch the mode, but one has to imagine that it will want to drum up a bit of fanfare first, so it’s likely that an announcement will come beforehand.

Whatever the case may be, the Warzone battle royale mode should only serve to make Call of Duty: Modern Warfare an even more feature-rich experience. Players still have plenty of new content to look forward to when it comes to the standard multiplayer mode, if the Modern Warfare Season 2 road map is any indication.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
