Loadouts are a relatively new system in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that lets players customize weapons. Attaching different items to a weapon can give stat bonuses or just make a player’s gun look unique. While players can optimize loadout combos for better gameplay, this glitch goes beyond the normal ways of min-maxing with the two separate loadout sets.

YouTuber Bubs shared this glitch in a video on his channel, showing his audience that it allows players to mix weapon classes. In the video, he pointed out that the glitched attachments are only consistently visible in custom games. Playing in multiplayer or Warzone sometimes renders the attachments invisible, a common effect in Call of Duty bugs.

The video shows that while the glitch works on all platforms, the player needs to use a mouse to set up the loadouts. The glitch only works on attachments with variants. After selecting the attachment, the player needs a friend to back them out of the custom games lobby. This leaves the UI still up for the attachments while the player is in the multiplayer lobby. The player can click it and then select any attachment they want, even mixing gun classes to make more versatile combos with the wide array of gun options in Modern Warfare.

This glitch isn’t gamebreaking (yet), and so far just looks like a way to make interesting weapon combos. In his video, Bubs displays an M4AI with MP5 attachments, which isn’t something players usually see in Modern Warfare. It’s certainly a better glitch than having a weapon completely disappear out of a player’s hands. The changes are just cosmetic fun, and doesn’t always work in multiplayer or Warzone.

Infinity Ward regularly patches Modern Warfare and releases bug fixes, although this isn’t a major bug that makes players unable to win a game or renders them invincible. Still, the glitch could give players a laugh, especially if they find a way to make more unusual combos with different weapon classes. Infinity Ward is likely to address the glitch eventually, so players wanting to see weird weapon combos should utilize this while they can.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
