Unless they purchase the special bundle, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players will still have some work to do after they buy the Season 3 Battle Pass if they want to unlock Riley. Riley can’t be accessed until Tier 20, at which point he will be available as a Finishing Move that players can use when performing stealthy melee attacks on their enemies.

This isn’t the first time that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has added a dog to the game. The Talon multiplayer Operator also has a dog, which goes by the name Indiana. Similarly to Riley, Talon’s dog appears when players perform a Finishing Move, and they can also see it walking alongside their character in the lobby before starting a match.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see if Modern Warfare incorporates more content from Call of Duty: Ghosts. As previously mentioned, Ghosts is far from the most popular Call of Duty game out there, and as a result, references to it are generally avoided. So far, Modern Warfare has largely focused on remaking Call of Duty 4 maps as well as MW2 maps, so it’s unclear if Ghosts will get more love down the line.

However, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility that Infinity Ward will start remaking Ghosts multiplayer maps for Modern Warfare at some point. After all, it will eventually get through all the big MW2 and CoD4 multiplayer maps, so maybe at that point it will take a look at redoing some maps from Ghosts.

The Modern Warfare Season 3 road map doesn’t seem to indicate that any Ghosts maps or other content is on the way in the near future, though, so fans will just have to be satisfied with Riley’s addition to the game for the time being.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
