Two images stood out to fans. In each, the operators are being showcased but observant fans have named both the new weapons expected to debut in Season 5’s launch. Shadow Company is known for a frontal assault, which is why they are packing only the best onto the battlefield.

The first image to catch fan attention appeared in the Call of Duty blog. It showcased three operators, one already in the game but two new faces expected to come out in Season 5. Each of the operators is holding the same weapon which one fan believes is the AN-94. The weapon almost looks like a Galil, but more up to date.

The AN-94 first debuted back in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized. The weapon was a common weapon for the USMC missions and was considered a high accuracy high powered rifle with a large ammo capacity. The weapon’s most recent debut was in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 as part of the Operation Dark Divide update. Although the gun does technically appear in Call of Duty: Mobile, it is renamed as the ASM10 instead of the AN-94.

The second weapon to gain fan attention was from the Season 5 trailer itself. The operator on the cover image is shown holding a small SMG that fans believe is the APC-9. Although this weapon is known by fans it does not have the same acclaim as the AN-94. Fans consider it a re-skin of the UMP but it is a fairly different weapon.

This submachine gun gained massive attention back in Season 4 as a leaked video showed off Bruen MK9 and APC-9 gameplay. The fully automatic Submachine Gun was believed to be a vector by fans, but after some observation was eventually debunked and officially named the APC-9. This is a high rate of fire and high damage weapon that goes with the Shadow Company theme for this season.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
