Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has received several patches and hotfixes after its huge April 28 update, which required to download a 15 GB data pack on all platforms on top of an already hefty download for the update itself. It isn’t exactly clear what the data pack is for other than bug fixes and stability updates, but hotfixes addressing critical bugs have still been rolled out frequently since the data pack was implemented. Even now, Modern Warfare and Warzone players are experiencing longer than usual matchmaking times after the recent updates, with a few people unable to find a match at all.

The new update doesn’t shift around the available playlists or anything, but it does fix a few major issues that have popped up in Modern Warfare and Warzone recently. Gunsmith Custom loadout should now appear in matches, letting players show off their custom creations during games. The timer in 3v3 Cranked Gunfight has been increased from 15 seconds to provide just a little more breathing room in the hectic game mode. The out of bounds timer in Infected has been adjusted, and the match start timer has been adjusted as well to allow players to join before the Infected countdown ends. Finally, a Warzone bug where players could get stuck during the infil while loading into a match was fixed.

The most significant change, however, is the removal of Most Wanted contracts in Warzone. These contracts were introduced alongside the April 28 update earlier this week, and while people were initially receptive to the idea, the community quickly began to despise Most Wanted contracts. Not only was there a noteworthy bug associated with Most Wanted contracts, they also replaced normal bounties, much to fans’ dismay. Now, Most Wanted contracts have been removed from Warzone and replaced with standard bounties.

While the bug fixes are appreciated, the removal of Most Wanted contracts is easily the best part of this update. They’re fine as an addition to the game, but not when they replace one of the most beloved contracts in Warzone. Standard bounty contracts assigned a designated player for your squad to kill, which spiced things up during a match, but Most Wanted contracts took that idea to the extreme, triggering a giant manhunt for you and your squad. Some players might appreciate the added challenge of a Most Wanted contract, but having both contract types in the game is a much better idea.
