In the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Community Update, Infinity Ward teases a mysterious update that it’s been working on for the game. It stops short of specifying exactly what the next Modern Warfare update will entail, but it does confirm that the update will roll out to all platforms sometime next week.

While we don’t know what the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update will do, we can make some educated guesses based on what Infinity Ward has discussed lately. For example, it’s possible that the next Modern Warfare update will fix the player collision bug that has plagued the game in recent weeks. It’s also possible that the update will add the new crossbow weapon to the game, or maybe even change up the current playlists.
If the Modern Warfare crossbow weapon is added in next week’s update, fans of the game will want to be sure to unlock it while they still can. Players will need to complete a special challenge to unlock the crossbow, and it’s unclear at the time of this writing if the weapon will still be available once Modern Warfare Season One ends.
Modern Warfare Season One has been extended so that it will now end on February 11. The crossbow will be added to the game by then, in addition to new challenges, items, game modes, and playlists. Details on those are unavailable at this time, but perhaps more information will come with next week’s Community Update.
Once Modern Warfare Season One ends, fans will have Season Two to look forward to. It’s likely that Modern Warfare Season Two will kick off with a significant content dump, not unlike Season One, and it may even include the addition of more classic Call of Duty maps. Fans will just have to wait for more details on that front.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
