In an update that will likely start rolling out to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players on April 14, Infinity Ward is adding Drop Zone back to the standard multiplayer experience. In Drop Zone, Modern Warfare players can earn points by being inside the designated “Drop Zone,” and the first team to reach the required point total wins the match. Instead of earning Modern Warfare multiplayer killstreaks by killing enemy players as usual, Drop Zone instead has killstreaks constantly drop on the map.

The Modern Warfare Drop Zone mode proved popular before, so it will likely be popular again this time around. It’s unclear exactly how long it will be in the game, though, so fans that are interested in trying it out should make it a point to do so this week.

Besides the addition of Drop Zone, Modern Warfare fans can otherwise expect the multiplayer playlists to stay largely the same this week. This includes the Season 3 Moshpit playlist, which gives fans the chance to try out the three new Modern Warfare Season 3 maps without having to cycle through the older ones as well. The maps available include Talsik Backlot (a remake of the Call of Duty 4 map Backlot), Aniyah Incursion, and Hovec Sawmill. The Modern Warfare Season 3 Moshpit playlist includes a variety of match types for players to enjoy while checking out the new maps.

Looking ahead, there’s plenty more for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans to look forward to in the coming months. The Modern Warfare Season 3 road map teases new maps, weapons, and playable Operators that players will be able to get their hands on as Season 3 continues.

In the meantime, fans should be able to play Drop Zone and check out the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update at some point on April 14.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
