The thank-you starts with an attention-grabbing event to start Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2. Starting February 18 at 10:00 AM PT, players will be able to capitalize on a Max Double XP Weekend. The “Max” means that XP across all forms of progression will be doubled for the duration of the event. That includes Regular XP, Weapon XP, Operator XP, Battle Pass XP, and Vanguard’s Clan XP. The Max Double XP Weekend event will end on Tuesday, February 22, at 10:00 AM PT.

In addition to the Max Double XP Weekend, Activision is also giving a free microtransaction bundle to Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard players. The Forbidden Sacrifice bundle will be made available to all players who log on during the Max Double XP Weekend. It includes nine items, a Legendary Operator Skin, two Legendary Weapon Blueprints, a Battle Pass Tier Skip, and more. The Forbidden Sacrifice bundle will return to the store as a premium purchase later, so Warzone and Vanguard players should claim it while it’s free.

Lastly, just as an extra bonus, Activision will also give out 10 extra free Battle Pass Tier Skips to Warzone and Vanguard players. Like the Forbidden Sacrifice Bundle, it’ll only be free for the duration of the Max Double XP Weekend.

The free content, as well as the Double XP bonuses, are all being given by Activision to say thanks for playing Season 1 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard. Obviously, it’s not just to say thank you. It’s also to get players who may no longer be actively playing Call of Duty back to give the new content a try. That’s just implied, though.

What Activision is trying to do is give Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard as much of a chance to succeed as it can. Neither the free content nor the changes coming in Season 2 promise that players will be happy with the state of either game. Then again, paying customers don’t necessarily have to be happy with the game to make purchases.

Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard are available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
