Some players have been calling for the inclusion of trophy systems ever since the game first launched, as they felt it was a rather glaring omission. A trophy system is a device that players can place, which negates and destroys nearly all incoming throwables. Sledgehammer Games most likely decided not to include the item to preserve realism due to the fact that Call of Duty: Vanguard is set during World War 2. This has recently begun to bother some players as Call of Duty: Vanguard currently has multiple skins for weapons that do not suit the time period.

Fans feel that Call of Duty: Vanguard is still a video game after all and it should be allowed to take some liberties, especially considering that the developer has already done so when it has come to those previously mentioned cosmetics. The trophy system was an effective method of counteracting grenades and stuns which players feel is greatly needed in the current state of the game. The item also played a significant role in competitive Call of Duty and many pro players such as London Royal Ravens player, Nastiee would like to see it make a return.

In addition to the trophy system issue and debate over that game’s realism, players have also started to debate other issues with the game as well. Some are not only upset about how futuristic some Call of Duty: Vanguard skins look, but also the way they look in-game compared to how they appear in the game’s item shop. The Bioluminescence Blueprint for the MP-40 was displayed in the game’s item shop as having an impressive shiny blue shimmer, whereas, the in-game version of the item is dull and plain blue in color.

Another change that Call of Duty: Vanguard players would like to see is the removal of the MVP screen. Fans feel that the MVP screen overstays its welcome as it takes around 40 seconds before players can move on and vote for another match. With so much time stuck in that clip, players would rather get back into the action much faster.

Call of Duty: Vanguard seems to be only a few updates away from being a solid title as many players are enjoying the game but still want to see some changes made. Some players, however, have instead been calling for updates to the Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as they are unhappy with the mode altogether in Vanguard.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
