Reddit user ASpunkyMonkey is among several Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players criticizing the stickers unlocked through playing DMZ rather than the already established game modes on offer in the various playlists. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 players can all progress through weapon levels, profile ranking, and battle pass tiers as they complete in-game challenges for more customizations like calling cards, emblems, stickers, and more. While many Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 fans have praised their respective modes for the unlockable content on offer, DMZ players like ASpunkyMonkey are feeling less pleased with the fresh addition.

Being hailed by some as the biggest grind in Warzone 2, many DMZ players are unimpressed by the sticker acquired by completing 1,000 DMZ extractions which is little more than a Call of Duty prestige emblem in the form of a weapon cosmetic. ASpunkyMonkey’s Reddit post points to the progression as “underwhelming” at the 70 DMZ extraction point, leaving the player with far more victories for the player to complete than the ones they have already finished. With a screenshot showing a portion of ASpunkyMonkey’s progress in DMZ stickers, a majority of them look the same, with ten stickers that have one of two emblems and progressively scale up in level from 7 in Roman numerals.

The pattern of only getting a sticker with a new emblem in it every few levels continues all the way up to 1,000 DMZ extractions, leaving it a less enticing grind for some players than the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Orion weapon camo or obtaining all the calling cards. While many DMZ players are disappointed by the cosmetics offered in the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 game mode, others have suggested that it’s a fair unlock for extracting from DMZ instead of winning a battle royale match. The victory of reaching 1,000 extractions for a slightly different sticker may be paralleled by the 1,000 battle royale victories which has a very similar cosmetic to the ones in DMZ which emphasizes the lackluster nature of the reward.

Beyond the aforementioned stickers, fans of the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 game mode can acquire several cosmetics with varying degrees of quality by getting weapon cache rewards by playing DMZ as well. Because these victories are things that players will be able to achieve throughout the lifecycle of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 rather than the seasonal nature of a battle pass, players like ASpunkyMonkey have plenty of time to reach 1,000.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
