Dataminers have discovered in-game menus for players to choose new team size options in Call of Duty: Warzone. More specifically, they have found the option to play in Duos and Squads in the game. Call of Duty: Warzone dataminers have also leaked the ability to play private matches in the game with custom rules, though it’s unclear exactly how that would work. One has to imagine that players would be able to fill out their matches with bots, though that has yet to be confirmed.

As far as team size options go, it makes sense for Call of Duty: Warzone to be adding Duos and Squads. However, what’s less clear is when these team size options will be added to the game. Infinity Ward was quick to add a solo mode to Call of Duty: Warzone, adding it in an update just a week after the game’s release, so it’s possible Duos and Squads will come with next week’s expected update. Alternatively, fans may have to wait a little bit longer for the additional team size options.

When Duos is added to Call of Duty: Warzone, it will likely consist of 75 teams of two players. However, Warzone’s player count of 150 is not evenly divisible by four. It’s possible that squads in Warzone will consist of five players, or it’s possible Infinity Ward will change the player count number so that it is divisible by four. For example, it could raise the Warzone player count to 160 players, or it could lower it to 140.

Infinity Ward has already said that it’s been experimenting with 4- and 5-player Warzone squads, so either option is possible. We won’t know for sure how Infinity Ward will implement Warzone Squads until Infinity Ward decides to share more information, however.

Assuming Infinity Ward sticks to its weekly update schedule that it’s established with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a new Warzone update should be coming on Tuesday, so it’s possible fans just have a few more days to wait for new team size options in the game.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
