One of the main ways games in recent years have achieved this is via the introduction of temporary in-game “Seasons,” which bring with them swathes of new content to enjoy. With Call of Duty: Warzone recently releasing Season 2 Reloaded, a strong variety of fresh content is now available for fans to enjoy.

The Success of Call of Duty: Warzone
Warzone has proven to be an extremely lucrative and overwhelmingly successful development for Activision, now being firmly established as a mainstay of the rapidly evolving Call of Duty brand. Having originally launched in March 2020, the game quickly became a staple of the industry and gaming discourse, with Warzone achieving a massive audience of 60 million concurrent players only two months after launch.
In terms of long-term success, one of the primary reasons Warzone has remained so consistently relevant has been thanks to the periodical implementation of new in-game Seasons and the fresh maps, operators, weapons, game modes, and cosmetics that come with them. With each of these Warzone seasons being accompanied by a Battle Pass, the incentive to pick the game back up with every Season update is more than present.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 2 Reloaded recently released on March 23, and brings with it a spate of changes to both the Battle Royale experience of Warzone, as well as changes to the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Vanguard. While this update does not include its own Battle Pass, with there still being around a month left of the Season 2 Battle Pass, players will still have their hands full of new Battle Royale and multiplayer maps, new game modes, new weapons, and much more.
Rebirth Island Reinforced
One of the most alluring aspects of Season 2 Reloaded is the implementation of the Rebirth Island Reinforced map. This is a bolstering adaptation of the fan-favorite Rebirth map, which offered players a much more intimate, fast-paced, and close-quarters Warzone experience.
Rebirth Island Reinforced builds upon the close-knit nature of the map, developing several points of interest significantly, as well as introducing weapon trade stations to make use of weapons that are out of ammo. Rebirth Island Reinforced sees the Security Area become Stronghold, Shore become Dock, and an expansion of the Prison Courtyard.
These changes are all geared around increasing the verticality and dynamics of the aforementioned areas via increased cover and layered walkways, as well as entirely new buildings in some cases. Players will be able to play Rebirth Payload, Rebirth Blood Money, and Rebirth Resurgence Solos as new modes available within the secret-laden Rebirth Reinforced map.
New Multiplayer Map, Modes, and Vehicles
Despite the overwhelming popularity of Warzone, the standard multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Vanguard has not been overlooked as part of Season 2 Reloaded. The update sees a new map added to multiplayer by the name of Alps, as well as a new game mode called Arms Race.
Aptly named, Alps is a massively expansive alpine map set within the snow covered mountains, centered around 12v12 gameplay. This new map is designed for Arms Race, in which players are given vehicles for the first time in Vanguard to race towards and capture different bases before the enemy team. The new vehicles that are available to players are a CD12 jeep-style transport, a Sherman Tank, and a GC 620 motorcycle. These vehicles offer a range of available passengers, combat capabilities and movement speeds to ensure variation.

Ranked Play Additions
Season 2 Reloaded is also addressing all facets of multiplayer with the additions that have been made to the Ranked Mode of Call of Duty Vanguard. Season 2 Reloaded sees the addition of an extremely exclusive eighth Skill Division above Champion level. This new tier is known as Top 250, and essentially acts as a live leaderboard for the top 250 players within the Ranked competitive scene for Vanguard. In addition to this, a slew of new unlockable rewards in the form of weapon blueprints, charms, and cosmetic items are now available to be earned through progression within Ranked Play.
New Operators, Weapons, and Bundles
The advent of Season 2 Reloaded also sees the introduction of a brand-new operator to the growing cast of playable characters currently in the game. Gustavo is the new playable operator for this update, fitting thematically with the snowy theme of the aforementioned new Alps map within Vanguard’s multiplayer. Gustavo is billed as a Brazilian playboy who moved to Paris to indulge within the socialite scene. Having encountered the French resistance during the war, Gustavo entered the fight in protection of his homeland, joining Task Force Yeti. Gustavo sports a traditional latin-American mask as well as an arctic ghillie suit.
A new weapon is also available to players as a result of Season 2 Reloaded, in the form of the Armaguerra 43. A submachine gun, the Armaguerra 43 seems a versatile weapon that will hope to establish itself in the ever-shifting weapon meta of both Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. Players will have to unlock this new weapon via in-game challenges, with there being three possible ways to unlock the Armaguerra 43 across Vanguard and Warzone.
In terms of new bundles, Season 2 Reloaded has three to choose from. The first is the Island Expedition Pro Pack, a nine-item bundle that has an attractive mix of cosmetic outfits and weapon blueprints matching the Pacific theme of the Caldera map. Next is the Toxic Valkyrie bundle, containing a radioactive-themed set of blueprints, outfits, and a finishing move. Lastly is a brand new Snoop Dogg bundle for Call of Duty: Warzone, which brings Snoop himself as a playable operator, accompanied by fitting weapon blueprints and alternate outfits.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
