Known as one of the franchise’s most iconic and popular maps, Highrise appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Many players remember it to be the birthplace of the 360, no-scope sniping culture that was popularized throughout the franchise. As one Call of Duty: Warzone Reddit fan looked towards the many tall buildings in Verdansk, they noticed a missed opportunity to recreate Highrise, one of the many downtown skyscrapers. With some buildings still under construction, the map would have fit perfectly as a small nod to the franchise’s iconic Modern Warfare 2 locale.

Fans in the comments immediately agreed with many saying that the map should be added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Multiplayer game mode as well. The more fans looked that the opportunities in Call of Duty: Warzone’s map redesign, they being to theorize several iconic locations that would fit into the world of Verdansk.

While the idea sounds fun on a community level, many believe that it may be too impractical to implement the map into the battle royale environment. Call of Duty: Vanguard is thought to be the next major title, and many fans are expecting it to impact the next major map update.

Raven Software continues to connect Call of Duty: Warzone’s ‘84 Verdansk to the modern-day alternative. Through multiple story arcs, fans are watching the world unfold, and the future of the map is not headed towards the Modern Warfare 2 plotline. However, fan excitement has driven multiple updates in the past, and if enough players request it, the developer may make an exception for the iconic locale.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
