In Call of Duty:Warzone, 150 players are dropped into a map, and pushed together by an enclosing circle of poison gas. If a player stays inside the gas too long, they’ll die. For many players, a viable strategy has been to stay on the outskirts of the gas circle, and push in. However this glitch might completely invalidate that strategy.

When a player is on the outskirts of the gas circle, their vision is reduced by a visual effect that obscures objects in the distance. However as a video posted to Reddit has shown, this isn’t true of players outside the gas looking into it. In the video, a player on the outskirts of the the gas circle is being shot at by a player outside of it. The player in the gas is unable to see where he’s being shot from, because the gas obscures his vision, and is quickly killed. However the kill-cam shows that the player outside of the circle’s vision was unhindered by the gas, giving him a huge advantage in the firefight. While this might not be as bad as the hack that gives Call of Duty players unlimited health, it’s still incredibly frustrating.
While Infinity Ward has not spoken on this glitch in particular, in the past it has said that it has zero tolerance for cheaters, and has banned over 50,000 cheaters from the game.
The gas glitch isn’t the only exploit that’s currently in the game. Player’s have also recently figured out that changing the skin of their rifle can make it more powerful. If Infinity Ward wants to keep Call of Duty: Warzone fair and balanced, it needs to patch glitches like this one out of the game as soon as possible.
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
