Over the past couple of weeks, Call of Duty: Warzone players started reporting a weird potential glitch happening during Gulag fights. As seen in a recent Reddit video, one user spawns into their Gulag fight only to find a couple of weapons laying on the ground. The epic tier sniper rifle known as The Oceanographer and a Submachine gun. The player picks up the Uzi SMG and completely wipes the other player that’s only armed with a basic shotgun.

Naturally, a situation like this makes the match completely unbalanced and unfair. It appears that the issue stems from a player above on the Verdansk map getting eliminated during the traditional Battle Royale battle. Since the Gulag areas are underground, the player’s loadouts are somehow falling into the smaller map. More proof from the community has been found thanks to another Redditor who found a custom Kilo 141 rifle and MP7 during a Gulag match, something which isn’t possible without first purchasing a loadout from a store on a map.
Thankfully, this unfortunate bug has already caught the attention of Infinity Ward who has not only posted it in the official Trello board, but the studio has a fix that’s currently in progress. Unfortunately, a time frame hasn’t been given and with the studio working from home, a fix could take a little longer than normal. While this glitch will no doubt benefit some players, it’s also going to lead to a lot of frustration for those who are on the other end of the gun barrel.
This bug isn’t the only issue plaguing the Gulag at the moment as another particularly nasty glitch is ruining some experiences. Players using the proximity mine auxiliary weapon have discovered that if a used mine isn’t detonated during a Gulag battle, it hangs around after the player leaves and can kill other players who have started their battle. Still, Infinity Ward’s attention remains focused on the cheating issue that heavily impacts the PC version of the game. However, with cross-play enabled, the PC cheating also affects console players who don’t turn the feature off.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
