The reveal of Rust as a new Modern Warfare map comes somewhat indirectly from Infinity Ward. Certain Call of Duty fansites and fan-run social media accounts were given an Augmented Reality card all the way back in July. These AR cards have apparently been updated as of February 7 so that they show new content when viewed in AR. CharlieIntel has been able to confirm that the AR card now shows the Rust map in its background with the words “Season Two” in the foreground....

Occassionally, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will give players special windows of opportunity to gain more XP while they are playing. A recent post in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare subreddit accrued almost 30,000 upvotes recently. The post’s title is “Dear Santa” followed by a trophy and a Santa emoji, while the post itself is a photo comprised of four past Call of Duty map images. In effect, it’s a post asking Santa, or more likely Infinity Ward, to release updated versions of the four maps for Christmas. Modern Warfare fans would probably be happy just to have the maps confirmed for the new year, too....

Alongside this, several other women came out to call the comedian, streamer, and actor sexist, with a more recent clip of Leach quickly making the rounds. In it, he talks down to someone he claims is a troll in chat, making several sexist remarks before having them banned from the channel. While Leach may have been trying to avoid “toxicity in his community,” his comments were viewed by many as inexcusable due to their sexist undertones and the harsh language within them....

In the latest blog post detailing everything new this week in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision announced the availability of the Ghost Pack Contingency bundle available later this week. Out of all the leaked Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer perks, there are two that may be of particular interest to fans. The first is called Pointman, and what it does is turns killstreaks into scorestreaks. This means that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players who want to be rewarded for playing the objective instead of just getting kills will still be able to do so in the new game, as long as they have that perk equipped....

One of the character’s skins was called “Border War,” which was a reference to policy regarding the U.S.-Mexico border. As reported by SeekingAlpha, Activision COO and President Coddy Johnson confirmed plans for Modern Warfare spin-offs in a recent quarterly financial call. According to Johnson, the Call of Duty franchise “has never been better positioned for growth,” and Activision plans to capitalize while things are going well. The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1.06 update looks to fix stability across all platforms, removes Battlechatter from one-life modes (like the 2v2 Gunfight mode), and fixes the issue where weapon charms were messing up aiming. Claymores have also received a slight nerf in the new update, as stun grenades can now disable them for three seconds.
